Local artist Elyss McCleary, who made a press release to police about Koenig’s failure to return 5 of her paintings, attended the open for inspection and pulled two of her works off the lounge walls. The first main London exhibition by Mumbai-based artist Shilpa Gupta highlights the fragility of one’s right to expression while elevating urgent questions of censorship, confinement and resistance.
